Not to get everyone excited, but there’s been quite some buzz lately about Lee Pace rejoining Bryan Fuller (creator of “Wonderfalls” and “Pushing Dasies”) for the ongoing NBC drama, “Hannibal.” Although Bryan initially wanted Lee to play Francis Dolarhyde – aka the Red Dragon – Lee’s AMC series “Halt and Catch Fire” unfortunately caused a scheduling conflict. Instead, the role of Francis went to Richard Armitage, who played Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit.
Now there’s some talk from Bryan that he would like to see Lee in another role: Buffalo Bill. In a recent interview with the French Daily Mars, he was specifically asked about Lee Pace and their potential future together on “Hannibal”:
You’ve got a whole Fullerverse, with actors going from one of your series to another. Any chance we’ll get a Lee Pace cameo [in “Hannibal”]?
We’ve been trying. I talked to Lee years ago about playing the Red Dragon. He was busy on his show, “Halt and Catch Fire,” and was not available. But if we do manage to have the characters from Silence of the Lambs, I think it would be great to have Lee Pace play Buffalo Bill. It would amazing.
It should also be noted that Bryan Fuller recently (on June 4th) threw everyone in a tizzy during a “Hannibal” Facebook Q&A. When asked who he thought Lee Pace could play in a cameo role, Bryan answered in past-tense: “He’s made a great Buffalo Bill.”
So, what do you think? Would Lee make a great Buffalo Bill? Would you like to see him and Bryan reunite again, this time for “Hannibal”?
