‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ New York Screening

Jul 30
Kristina

Yesterday evening (July 29th) Lee Pace headed to the Crosby Street Hotel to attend a special screening of Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy. Hosted by The Cinema Society (with Men’s Fitness and FIJI Water), the event sort of served as the unofficial New York premiere for the movie. Co-stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Vin Diesel were all in attendance.

Additionally, Oscar Isaac and, as promised, Seth Meyers (whom Lee had spent time with earlier in the day for his late night talk show debut) stopped by. Marvel’s recently crowned Ant-Man, Paul Rudd, and Lee’s Marmaduke co-star, Judy Greer, were both at the after-party, which reportedly served innovative Grey Goose cocktails named “Guardian Galactic” and “Marvel Royal.”

The Hollywood Reporter spoke to Lee at the event, who said of his Guardians character, Ronan: “He’s really just someone who is at odds with the heroes. With differences, if you’re not able to solve them through politics, you’ll end up solving them through a war.”

Last night (or this morning, depending on your perspective), Lee Pace made his very first late-night talk show appearance in front of a live studio audience. In order to help promote Marvel’s upcoming movie, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Lee spoke to Seth Meyers as part of NBC’s “Late Night.” He elaborated on the 2am wake-up call he and Andy Serkis performed at Comic-Con just several days ago, along with some discussion on “Halt And Catch Fire.” Lee is as charming as ever — and, thankfully, did not vomit.

2014 San Diego Comic-Con

Jul 27
Kristina

Lee Pace spent his weekend in sunny San Diego, California as part of the annual event, Comic-Con. This year, along with some select cast and crew, his focus was to help promote the upcoming final installment in The Hobbit trilogy: The Battle Of The Five Armies. Co-stars at the event included Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Graham McTavish, Elijah Wood, and Andy Serkis; Peter Jackson and Philippa Boyens were also there.

(Fun fact: On Friday night/Saturday morning, Lee Pace and Andy Serkis stopped by Hall H to greet all the sleeping fans. They stayed from 2:30-3:30am, saying hello and taking pictures with all that were camping out in line, preparing for the Warner Brothers [among other] panels later that day. For more info, check out MTV; LPO also re-tweeted many fan accounts/pictures, in case you want to dig through tweets and check them out.)

You can find several photos from the event now in the gallery, including pics from the BOFA panel, press lines, and various interviews throughout the day. (Unofficially, via YouTube, you can view the BOFA panel.) Additionally, check below for a variety of videos featuring Lee Pace (and Hobbit cast) talking about the film.

Lee Pace is currently at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con — in fact, he and fellow cast members just wrapped The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies panel. He was at the convention yesterday as well, where he was interviewed by MTV’s Joshua Horowitz; you can watch that right here, in case you missed it. Looks like he also got involved in a portrait session yesterday, and you can now find those pics – in HD – in the gallery. It’s been a while since we had a real photo shoot from him, so enjoy!

Another Look at Thranduil in ‘Five Armies’

Kristina

Just two days after we got our first peek of Thranduil in The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, we’re getting another look — and this one’s even better. As part of Entertainment Weekly‘s 2014 Comic-Con guide, the third Hobbit film is featured in honor of its panel to be held at the annual comic and movie convention. There is an accompanying article, which reads:

STARRING: Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Orlando Bloom, Luke Evans, Lee Pace

DIRECTED BY: Peter Jackson

WHY WE’RE EXCITED: Jackson’s Middle-earth has its fair share of massive, technology-stretching battles, but co-writer Philippa Boyens promises that the final film in the Hobbit trilogy will be something we haven’t seen before. “Peter wanted a different flavor to this. It’s very shocking,” she says. “In Helm’s Deep, you get that almost unbearable tension of them waiting, but here it’s some real carnage.”

WHO’S HERE: The second installment didn’t make it to San Diego[‘s Comic-Con] last year, but this time around Hall H stands for Hobbit. Jackson is confirmed for the third film’s panel. “We’ve got some good stuff. I’m pretty excited,” says Boyens.

The stunning first poster for The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies has just been released. Director Peter Jackson posted it on his Facebook earlier today, along with the caption: “Anyone else excited about San Diego Comic Con?” The poster is promotional material for the annual comic and film convention and features the dragon Smaug facing up with Bard The Bowman.

‘The Battle Of The Five Armies’ Film Still Released

Kristina

On the heels of San Diego Comic-Con, promo for The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies is starting to heat up. After releasing a film still featuring Gandalf with Bard The Bowman in Entertainment Weekly, USA Today also debuted a new look at the upcoming film. This time, Lee Pace is featured — sort of. Thranduil is shown speaking to Gandalf (Ian McKellen), but we only see him from behind (and wearing his battle armor). It’s not much, but it’s a promising start. The Battle Of The Five Armies is the third and final installment of The Hobbit trilogy, and it’ll hit theaters December 17th.

The world premiere of Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy was held tonight (July 21st) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Lee Pace was at the event, helping to the promote the movie in which he plays the villain, Ronan The Accuser. (Fans of his might know by now that he’s missed quite a few movie premiers throughout his career, so tonight was a special treat.) Plenty of co-stars were on hand, including Chris Pratt, Dave Batista, Benicio Del Toro, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Glenn Close, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel, and Gregg Henry; director James Gunn was, of course, also in attendance.

Numerous pictures from the event have been added to the gallery. (ETA: Pictures from the after-party added.) Additionally, check out a video below, in which Lee was interviewed on the red carpet:
